We just went to the Panama Motorshow yesterday evening at the Atlapa Convention Center in Panama City. This is the largest car show of the year and a common place for many to purchase vehicles as well, which is new to us. The auto shows in the United States are just that a Show, you are not able to purchase vehicles at these shows. Tiffany noticed this right away when we walked in the show to the Kia display of all white vehicles and a ton of people speaking with the Kia representatives and doing paperwork. So we asked a guy and he confirmed what she saw, they are buying vehicles, strange. We took a bunch of photos so check’em out.
The Atlapa Convention Center was full and even had cars our on the patio under a tent with AC on display as well. We saw dozens of manufactures including but not limited to, Ford, Lincoln, Range Rover, Jaguar, Porche, Mercedes, Acura, Lexus, Toyota, Chevrolet, JMC (yes JMC), Cadillac, Subaru, Jeep, Renault, Suzuki, Changang, Peugot, Ssang Yong, Mahindra, Hyundai, Honda, Infiniti, VW, Tesa and more selling cars, trucks and SUVS. In addition to this they also had UTVs, Side by Sides, ATVs, Motorcycles, Personal Watercraft and accessories for all. A few of the powersports brands I saw were Kawasaki, Honda and Yamaha. We also noticed a couple Polaris electric Bicycles on display. All and all a very large variety of vehicles and manufactures were present.
We arrived just after 4pm and were there for a couple hours and it seemed to get busier as the night went on. The strangest part for sure was the number of banks present and working on financing for people purchasing vehicles. The entire second floor of the convention center was filled with banks everywhere you looked all the banks in Panama seemed to be here. Some had separate meeting rooms with row after row of tables and people working with customers, it was crazy. We spoke with several different vehicle manufactures and each one mentioned several thousand dollars discount on the vehicles at the show, so we can certainly see why they were so busy. I would definitely recommend anyone looking to buy a new car to try and make this show and take advantage of the large discounts.
They had some vehicles with aftermarket accessories on them as well on display which looked quite nice. When you first enter the Atlapa Convention Center Panama you will find several accessory display with items from Air Intake Systems by K&N Filters, roof racks from many makes, wheels, tires, oils, service centers, local classifieds like OLX and Encuentra24, 4×4 items, vehicle tracker devices, license and registration things and many other items.
They also had a good size food court in the middle of the Atlapa Convention Center with lots of options including local foods and of course coffee. You will find coffee all over Panama Republic. This show was only $4 admission for adults, $1 for kids and it is put on in part by the Rotary Club as well.
The show is Called Panama Motorshow 2015 it is located at Atlapa Convention Center in Panama City, Panam Republic. It is open Monday – Friday from 4 pm to 9 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 2 pm to 10 pm.
